Naughty Time

Most formal weight management programmes include ‘sins’ or treats that are ‘outside’ of the strict dietary regime specified. However, before being ‘naughty’ you must carefully consider the impact of what you intend to do.

Naughty time events are very important and need not involve food. The psychological issue here is keeping your control over your life. You need to break the rules. This could be the sins or treats allowed in your diet, it could be spoiling yourself by going to a show, buying new shoes or the latest gadget; you chose something that you consider naughty.

How this helps you lose weight: Diets can become very close emotionally to punishment. You can feel trapped within a set of rules that deprive you of what makes life feel good, this can lead to depression and an overwhelming need escape and comfort eat.
